Counselling Training Sessions:
Wednesday February 8th 2012
MONEY IN THE THERAPY ROOM AND OUTSIDE: How well are we aware of our own relationship with money? Can we hope to understand our client's difficulties with money without confronting our own? How much should we charge for a therapy session? Why is it a problem to evaluate 50 minutes of skilled, trained, experienced therapeutic quality time? What does it mean for a client to hand over a piece (pieces) of paper money or metal coins to a therapist? What does it mean when this concrete act is avoided, evaded, fudged or refused?
Wednesday April 25th
ETHICAL PRACTICE: Clients allow us deep into their inner lives - a privilege we cannot value enough. How far can an ethical code of practice protect the client and the therapist? Is it possible to prescribe ethical practice that covers all eventualities? Do we actually need this? This workshop will explore how well we understand our own boundaries and the framework within which we can be most effective clinically.
All sessions are from 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. and will be run by Ruth Barnett, BSc UKCP reg. BCP reg. (Former Clinical Director of Raphael).
Each session is £65 per counsellor which includes lunch and all course materials.
If you would like a place reserved please send in a cheque made payable to ‘The Jewish Marriage Council’ to the address below.
